Leaders from the Cherokee Nation, Sequoyah High School, Bureau of Indian Education, the Native American Agriculture Fund, and the Tribal Agriculture Fellowship celebrated Thursday a partnership to start a new agriculture education program at the Sequoyah high school in Tahlequah OK. Tribal Agriculture Fellowship (TAF) Releases 2024 Annual Report

Over the past three years, TAF has proudly supported a diverse array of students pursuing careers in fields ranging from diesel mechanics to veterinary medicine. Each of these students addresses specific, distinct needs within Indian Country. The Tribal Agriculture Fellowship bridges the gap by recognizing and responding to the unique agricultural needs of our tribal communities, and our students are a testament to this commitment.

TAF names nine new Fellows joining its program on June 1, 2024. This will be the third cohort since TAF started its operations in May 2022. Their areas of specialties range from ag education, ag communications, ag business, veterinary science, and rangeland

TAF is a fellowship program dedicated solely to supporting the educational and professional development of Native American, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian students pursuing technical, undergraduate, and graduate degrees in agriculture.
The Native Agriculture Education Fellowship Program Announces New Executive Director

The Native Agriculture Education Fellowship Program (NAEFP) appoints Nicole DeVon as Executive Director to oversee the Tribal Agriculture Fellowship for Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian students studying agriculture and related fields. Nicole DeVon is a member of the Mescalero Apache Tribe and was born and raised in Washington State.

The Tribal Agriculture Fellowship is sponsored by leading Native agriculture industry groups, including Native American Agriculture Fund, Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research, Farmer Mac, John Deere, and Farm Credit.
