Skye Byrd, a citizen of the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana (Nokko Clan), serves as the Fundraising & Business Development Manager for the Tribal Agriculture Fellowship. 

Raised in her Tribal community on Bayou Blue in southwest Louisiana, Skye brings a deeply rooted commitment to strengthening Tribal sovereignty, advancing Native-led initiatives, and building meaningful relationships that support Indigenous communities. Her work centers on connecting Tribal nations, corporate partners, government agencies, and community stakeholders to create sustainable opportunities for future generations. 

Skye has an extensive background in strategic partnerships, marketing, communications, and Tribal relations. Prior to joining TAF, she served as Director of Strategic Partnerships focused on Corporate and Tribal Relations at The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development, as well as Marketing Manager for Coushatta Casino Resort. Her professional experience also includes work in Tribal Historic Preservation involving Section 106, NAGPRA, and government-to-government relations and negotiations for Tribes within Creek Territory. 

She earned an M.A. in Advertising from SCAD-Atlanta, a B.F.A. in Digital Media from Louisiana State University, and an A.A. in AVATAR from Louisiana State University. She also completed the Harvard Executive Leadership Program. 

A dedicated advocate for Indigenous leadership and community engagement, Skye has served in numerous leadership roles including President and Vice President of the LSU Native American Student Organization, President, Vice President, and Grants Writer for Kinder Rotary, and Board Secretary for the 7 Generations Indigenous Foundation. She was recognized as an NCAIED 40 Under 40 Awardee in 2026 and has contributed to Indigenous dialogue internationally as a moderator for the United Nations Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in New York and as a keynote speaker for Indigenomics | SHE in Winnipeg, Canada. 

Through her work, Skye remains committed to uplifting Native communities by fostering collaboration, strengthening partnerships, and supporting pathways for Indigenous self-determination and success.
