April Parrott

Program Coordinator

April Parrott was born and raised in Eastern Tennessee, where she grew up on a tobacco and beef farm. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Food and Agriculture Business from the University of Tennessee in 2012 and her Master’s in Agricultural Leadership, Education, Extension, and Communications in 2015.
For the past 10 years, April has worked with youth in two of the largest youth organizations in the United States: 4-H and the National FFA Organization. She has worked closely with young people as a 4-H Youth Development Agent and a former Agriculture Educator. With her expertise, she has built programs from the ground up. Most recently, she worked at Cherokee Central Schools on the Qualla Boundary, building an agriculture program.
April is passionate about serving youth and connecting them to careers in agriculture. She brings a wealth of experience to TAF and has served on the Farm Bureau Women’s Committee, as a Philip Morris Intern, and on the Jefferson and Cocke County, TN Livestock Fair Board. Additionally, she is the 2022-2023 Kenan Fellow for teachers in leadership.
When she is not advocating for Native American youth in agriculture, April enjoys traveling and trying new foods.
